No peace has been lasting, and there has been a long-term Civil war with the "Lord's Resistance Army", led by occultic Joseph Kony and responsible for the kidnapping of thousands of children to impress into the rebel forces, which operate in Uganda, the DRC and the Central African Republic.
More than a ten thousand have been killed in this war, and more than a million are internally displaced.

Dominic Ongwen, Kony's former commander of the LRA, is currently on trial in the Hague, accused of 70 war crimes, including ordering cannibalism of captive civilians.
The LRA is accused of slaughtering more than 100,000 people and abducting 60,000 children in its bloody rebellion against Kampala that began in 1986.
